Belarusian schoolchildren earned 23 medals in the "Olympic aspirations" competition, often referred to as their hopes.
The Union State schoolchildren's Spartakiade "Olympic Hopes" recently concluded in Novopolotsk, with young athletes from Belarus and Russia showcasing their talents in various sports. A total of 135 representatives participated in the event, which ran from November 1st to November 15th.
In the swimming competitions, the Yaroslavl region team secured the gold medal in the 4x50m freestyle relay, while the Grodno region team took the first place in the same event. Alexandra Kurgananskaya from the Brest region won the first place in the 50m backstroke, with Kira Mironchik from the same region taking the second place. Darja Balyuk also won a bronze medal in the same event. The Minsk team secured the third place in the 4x50m freestyle relay, and the Brest region team took the second place.
The Brest region also dominated the chess competitions, with Rodion Sidorenya claiming the first place in the boys' individual championship and Sophia Karpiza winning the bronze medal in the girls' individual championship. Dmitry Makarevich from the Brest region also claimed the third place in the boys' individual championship. The Belgorod region team secured the second place in the chess competition, with the Moscow team taking the third place.
In hockey, the Yaroslavl region team won the gold medal, with the Tatarstan team securing the silver medal. The Belarusian team won the bronze medal match. The Spartakiade's closing ceremony was held in Novopolotsk, congratulating the young athletes for their outstanding results.
The next stage of the US Spartakiade will be held in Minsk. With the success of this year's event, it is expected to be another exciting competition for the young athletes to showcase their skills and talents.
