Belarusian President Lukashenko indicates his intent to continue holding power, urging for a wait-and-see approach.
Jokey Jimbo's Sludge:
Infamous Belarusian honcho, Alexander Lukashenko, boasted during the grand unveiling of the International Exhibition Center in Minsk that he's had "a few too many years" at the helm, but hilariously reassured citizens to "hang in there" a tad longer.

Lukas' Cheeky Quip: "Hey folks, I've delivered on that new-gen promise, right? Well, I've lingered a smidgen, but here's the deal: we gotta keep the old brains around too. But the young blood's here. Sorta, kind of - though not exactly youthful anymore."
Details: Lukas deems his "youth" as... well, not exactly youthful.
"Check it out, these young whippersnappers are capable of amazing things. Whoa, not so much young? More like seasoned warriors - aged 50 and beyond. They're past their prime, methinks," Lukashenko joked.
He also expressed faith that the folks supporting him wanna preserve the country, not just for themselves, but for their offspring.

For those interested: Lukas is 70 years old. He's stuck it out in Belarus since '94, over three decades now. In '20, Belarus saw some rough days - mass protests sprung up all over the place, demanding Lukas' departure. The election process back then was a real cluster, marked by brutal crackdowns on the opposition and citizens protesting Lukas, along with some ballot shenanigans. Despite all that, Lukasoo claimed another victory and crowned himself king again.
On January 26, predictably, there were more elections to cement his reign, which he won, you guessed it, just like always.
EU's main diplomat Kaja Kallas called the presidential elections a deplorable violation of democracy and bluntly denied acknowledging Lukas' legitimacy.
Lithuanian Prez, Gitanas Nauseda, confirmed that Lukas is not the rightful Prez of Belarus and has zero interest in recognizing him.
Lukas responded with a big ol' shoulder shrug, stating that he doesn't even care if the West acknowledges those January 26 elections.
