Belarusian President Lukashenko called a meeting of the Security Council to deliberate on the Belarus Defense Strategy, expressing his concern over the actions of their eastern neighbor.

In the nation at hand, maintaining military security and sustaining socio-political stability is paramount. This mandate was given by Alexander Lukashenko at a Security Council gathering in Belarus. Lukashenko pointed out that the meeting agenda includes the Defense Plan of Belarus, emphasizing the need for strengthening the country's defense capacities.

"Let it be crystal clear: no one will dictate terms to our land. Our army is well-equipped to handle any threats, and it's not only the army - the entire nation stands ready," Lukashenko asserted, according to BelTA.

Lukashenko reiterated that the country's stability and security are vital for the nation's sustainable development. Nevertheless, he assured that Belarus has no intention of initiating any war but will take every necessary measure to guarantee military security and socio-political stability.

Lukashenko clarified that the country neither seeks external enemies nor internal tension. The nation prays for peace and tranquility, which are essential for dignified development and confronting challenges.

Speaking about the interaction with Russia, Lukashenko stated, "Russia's current behavior cannot but raise concerns. But we're not jumping to conclusions yet - I'm among them - until our conversation with the President of Russia." He further added that he desires clarity from Russia about its policies towards Belarus.

While Lukashenko did not explicitly mention potential adversaries and criticized NATO's rising military presence in Central Europe, he made it clear that he would not ignore any hostile actions.

The recent developments reveal that Belarus is strengthening its military ties with Russia, participating in joint military exercises regularly, and upgrading its military equipment. The close relationship is often perceived with suspicion by Western countries, who fear potential military aggression or the buildup of forces near NATO borders.
