Belarusian NHL stars shine as Protas climbs all-time scoring ranks

Five Belarusian players are currently active in the NHL, with their performances making an impact across the league. Among them, Alexei Protas has stood out by surpassing a notable career milestone. Meanwhile, retired players still dominate the all-time scoring records for Belarusian skaters.

Mikhail Grabovski remains the highest-scoring Belarusian in NHL history with 296 points, even though he retired years ago. Sergei Kostitsyn and Vladimir Tsyplakov follow with 176 and 170 points respectively, both also no longer active.

Among current players, Alexei Protas of the Washington Capitals leads with 166 points. His total has now exceeded Andrei Kostitsyn's career mark of 222, moving him up the historical rankings. Ruslan Salei, another retired player, sits just ahead with 202 points. Other active Belarusians include Vladislav Kolyachonok (Boston Bruins) with 87 points, Artem Levshunov (Chicago Blackhawks) with 83, and Ilya Solovyov (Pittsburgh Penguins) with 42. Yegor Sharangovich, now with the Calgary Flames, rounds out the group of five currently playing in the league.

Protas has become the top-scoring active Belarusian in the NHL, overtaking a former career benchmark. With five players representing the country, their contributions continue to shape Belarusian hockey's presence in the league. The all-time records, however, remain held by retired stars like Grabovski and Salei.
