Belarus Battles Heavy Snow as Cyclone Sweeps Across Key Regions
A powerful cyclone has brought heavy snowfall across nearly all of Belarus. Meteorologists issued an orange alert for Sunday, November 23, warning of significant snow in many regions. The storm has already disrupted travel and prompted local responses in some areas.
The first snow arrived in the Brest and Gomel regions early on Sunday. Local authorities quickly sent out vehicles and workers to clear roads and pavements. By midday, the cyclone had pushed northward, blanketing the southern regions in snow.
The cyclone’s exit on November 24 will mark the end of the heaviest snowfall. Northern regions will remain under thick snow cover overnight, but lighter precipitation is all that’s expected afterward. Local teams will continue clearing roads as the weather slowly improves.
