BEL and RRP Group unite to advance India's defence tech innovation

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with RRP Electronics Limited and RRP Defense Limited. The agreement aims to develop cutting-edge defence technologies, including semiconductors, electro-optical systems, and unmanned platforms. Senior leaders from both organisations attended the signing ceremony in Bengaluru. The partnership brings together BEL's long-standing expertise in defence electronics and mission-critical systems with RRP Group's strengths in semiconductor manufacturing, electro-optics, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). By combining their capabilities, the companies plan to create advanced solutions tailored for strategic defence applications.

The collaboration will focus on high-precision electro-optical systems, next-generation semiconductor devices, and autonomous platforms. Officials stated that the MoU aligns with India's push for indigenisation, reducing reliance on foreign imports while boosting local innovation.

The agreement also supports India's defence export promotion policies, opening new avenues for international sales. BEL's Chairman and Managing Director, Manoj Jain, and RRP Group's Chairman, Rajendra Chodankar, formalised the deal, marking a step toward deeper industry cooperation for long-term defence and strategic goals. This partnership reinforces India's defence ecosystem by fostering self-reliance and technological advancement. The joint efforts in semiconductors, electro-optics, and unmanned systems are set to enhance domestic production while creating opportunities for global defence exports.
