Anne (Meret Becker), a quirky loner, dwells in her secluded farm in Brandenburg. She's known for her unconventional methods, like scaring off the mailman with a shotgun, driving her black plow horse to the pharmacy, and ousting the new pastor.
But her solitary life takes a turn when a friend of Julia (Emma Bading), her estranged daughter, drops off Julia's eight-year-old daughter Tilda (Luise Landau). Julia's in prison, and Anne, though she'd prefer otherwise, reluctantly accepts Tilda. To Anne's surprise, Tilda matches her in stubbornness. This is the tale of the tragicomedy "Blood Ties Unbroken", premiering on ZDF this Monday (2nd June) at 8:15 PM.
Initially, Tilda attempts to run away, but Anne eventually warms up to her posse. As grandmother and granddaughter grow closer, sharing a bed and working together on the farm, Anne starts to reconnect with her community. The story unfolds the strained relationship with Julia, revealing her past and showcasing the family bond.
