Detmold Summer Stage 2025: A Musical Extravaganza
The Detmold Summer Stage is set to return this year, transforming the Market Square into a vibrant hub of live music, urban atmosphere, and festival vibes from July 31st to August 2nd, 2025.
The lineup for this year's event is nothing short of spectacular. On July 31st at 6:30 PM, the KNUD Trio will take the stage, followed by M. Byrd at 8:30 PM. On August 1st, the day will begin with Mina Richman's captivating performance at 8:30 PM, and later in the evening, Da Cruz will enthrall audiences at 10:00 PM. The event will close with a performance from the eight-piece brass band, Gallowstreet.
Hailing from Detmold, Hans im Glück, a five-piece German band, will also be a part of the lineup. Known for their unique blend of hip-hop, jazz, funk, and urban lyricism, they are sure to add a local touch to the festival.
M. Byrd's music is inspired by American road movie soundtracks and indie greats like The War on Drugs or Phoebe Bridgers. Their latest album, A Trip Worth Making (2024), showcases their stylistic versatility and knack for captivating arrangements.
Mina Richman, a German-Iranian musician, was born in Berlin and raised in Bad Salzuflen. She is known for blending pop, soul, blues, hip-hop, and folk in her music. Richman was nominated for Best Newcomer at the PopNRW Awards and performed on August 1, 2025, at the Detmold Summer Stage.
Da Cruz, a band based between Zurich and Lisbon, is renowned for their fusion of Bossa Nova, Afrobeat, and electronic club aesthetics. Their energetic performances are guaranteed to get the crowd moving.
Gallowstreet, an eight-piece brass band from Amsterdam, has built a loyal fanbase with five studio albums, numerous international shows, and festival appearances. Their sound is a fusion of classic American brass band influences, urban grooves, hip-hop attitude, funk vibes, disco shine, and driving house rhythms. Their songs explore themes of departure, wanderlust, city, and nature.
Frontman Georg N. Schmitt of Hans im Glück tells stories during live performances, accompanied by trumpet, keys, bass, and drums. The band's live performances are always engaging, making listeners think, dance, and listen.
