Beatrice Egli Makes a Comeback: Hears Again!

In a week that saw both triumph and adversity, Swiss singer Beatrice Egli captivated audiences once again with her performance at the BlueOrange-OpenAir of Volksbank Ulm-Biberach on Saturday night. The event, which was initially uncertain due to Egli's vocal issues, saw the popular performer take the stage with her four-piece band and two backing singers.

The week had started on a high note for Egli, as she delivered a stellar performance of Switzerland’s national anthem in front of 30,000 people at the Women's Football EURO in Basel's St. Jakob Park on Wednesday. However, just two days later, on July 4, 2025, Egli was forced to end a concert early due to sudden voice loss, a condition that deteriorated with each song she performed. This was a significant moment, as it marked the first time in twelve years that she had to cancel a concert for health reasons.

Singer Julian David warmed up the crowd before Beatrice Egli's performance, entertaining the audience with his own songs and covers of popular Schlager by artists like Wolfgang Petry, Andrea Berg, and Helene Fischer. After more than 40 hours of vocal rest, as advised by doctors, Egli graced the stage with her voice restored for the opening song "Neuanfang".

Egli's message during the performance was clear: stand up for oneself and not be deterred by others' opinions. This was a nod to the criticism she faced about her Schlager music and weight during her time on "Germany's Got Talent". The lyrics of her performance revolved around love, joy of life, longings, and self-acceptance, reinforcing her commitment to promoting positive messages through her music.

Over 20 Schlager songs, many in a lively discofox rhythm, filled the air as Egli encouraged her fans to clap along, dance, and sing. The concert, which was initially uncertain, did not have to be cancelled, much to the relief of Thomas Tremel of Volksbank and Egli's many fans.

In an emotional post on Instagram, Egli addressed her fans, expressing her concern about having to cancel a show for the first time in 12 years due to her vocal issues. However, the Warthausen audience was treated to a taste of her upcoming album with "Au revoir" and "Hör nie auf damit". Despite the challenges, Egli's week ended on a high note, demonstrating her resilience and the enduring popularity of her music.

The incident underlined the physical demands of Egli’s career and the vulnerability artists face, even at peak professional moments. However, Egli's ability to bounce back and deliver a successful performance serves as a testament to her dedication and the power of music to heal and inspire.
