Karsten Tadda (35), a titan in German club basketball, has amassed countless prestigious trophies. The star player for Bamberg Baskets in the easyCredit German Basketball League has yet to establish a record-breaking streak.
Alex King (Alba, Bayern, Skyliners) currently leads the pack with 638 games, which remains as the all-time highest in the league. However, Tadda is closing the gap rapidly, now in second place with 585 games, having overtaken Rickey Paulding (EWE Baskets Oldenburg).
In an interview on the no-sport-app with Bastian Doreth (34), Tadda remained reserved about his pursuits for the record, stating, "This milestone doesn't mean much to me. It's something for the statisticians. The only thing we can tell from the number is how long I've been around."
Despite this, it's clear that he aspires to challenge King's reign. "I'm not near the end yet, so hopefully, there will be a few more games," said Tadda.
While dubbing King as "the only true king," Tadda expressed his support for the record-holder, adding, "It would certainly be an honor to tie his record, but Alex is the real king, and I hope he stays that way."
With 53 games left to overtake King, Tadda's contract with his hometown team extends to 2025. He remains undecided about extending his career beyond that timeline, stating, "I'll consider it if the team wants me to stay. My body will dictate my decision at the end of the day."

Although Karsten Tadda excels in the Basketball Champions League with Brose Baskets Bamberg, his eyes remain fixed on the BBL record. The stage is set for an exhilarating race between Tadda and King, as the home team fans eagerly look forward to the day when Tadda dethrones the record holder from his throne.
