Baysox Secure Victory Over Fisher Cats Thanks to Vasquez's Triple Bats
The Chesapeake Baysox, Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, emerged victorious in a 6-1 win against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, at Prince George's Stadium.
The game saw several key moments that propelled the Baysox to victory. In the fifth inning, Aron Estrada hit his first home run in Double-A, while Aaron McKeithan and Jordyn Adams each drove in a run. TT Bowens also contributed to the scoring in the same inning.
Jalen Vasquez had a standout performance, hitting a two-run home run in the second inning and an RBI double in the fourth, driving in three runs in the game.
On the mound, Kyle Bradish, an Orioles' right-hander, started the game for the Baysox and pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out two. Blake Money followed with five innings in relief, allowing one run and striking out five.
The game was not without its challenges, with a rain delay in the fourth inning lasting for 46 minutes and Trace Bright committing a throwing error in the bottom of the fifth inning. However, the Baysox managed to weather these obstacles and secure the win.
Luis Valdez had a strong showing at the plate, recording his second multi-hit game of the series. Reed Trimble also contributed, doubling in the eighth inning to drive in Jalen Vasquez. Notably, Trimble has reached base in 24 of his last 25 games.
With the win, the Baysox and New Hampshire Fisher Cats continue their series tomorrow afternoon. Single-game tickets, ticket plans, and group offers for the 2025 season are currently on sale for the Chesapeake Baysox.
As for Kyle Bradish's rehab assignment with the Chesapeake Baysox, his performances have shown promising individual performances but with mixed impacts on game outcomes. In his second rehab start on July 29, 2025, Bradish delivered quality innings, allowing only one run and striking out five. However, his initial Triple-A rehab start did not go as well. His individual performance—limited runs allowed and solid strikeouts—suggests he is regaining form, which could be impactful once fully recovered.
