Leroy Sané Steps Up for Bayern in Club World Cup: "Interesting Scenario" - Eberl
Bayern Munich's Sane competes in the Club World Cup - Eberl finds it Peculiar Scenario - Bayern's player, Sané, participates in the World Cup competition.
In an unusual twist, international footballer Leroy Sané has been confirmed by Bayern Munich's sporting director Max Eberl to play for FC Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup, despite his upcoming move to Galatasaray Istanbul. Eberl describes this scenario as "intriguing for us all."
Sané sees himself as part of the tournament through the initial two weeks, potentially up to a quarter-final, as his current contract with the German football powerhouse champions expires on June 30.
Eberl: Freedom of choice for Sane
Eberl clarified in the US that the proposed extension with Sané up until 2028 ultimately could not materialize due to financial constraints. However, he insisted that there is "no hard feelings" towards Sané for not accepting the new contract offer in Munich. "He had the freedom of choice."
The 29-year-old winger is reportedly set to gain substantial financial gains at Galatasaray, amounts he wouldn't have garnered at Bayern, according to Eberl. Galatasaray reportedly offers a guaranteed net salary of nine million euros per season up until 2028, plus an additional net loyalty bonus of three million euros per season. Bayern apparently proposed substantially less remuneration.
Eberl commented on the fallen negotiations with the national player: "We spoke. Then there was a change of representatives." But, they kept the agreed-upon "figures" the same.
Eberl added that, although Sané has decided on Galatasaray, they attempted to bridge the gap in further negotiations. "How can we find resolutions that neither he nor Bayern Munich loses face? Sané has chosen Galatasaray. That's his personal decision."
Sané is expected to join the team following his contract signing this Friday in Orlando, along with Harry Kane and Konrad Laimer, as they join the Munich pros in Florida after their international match appearances last Tuesday. On Sunday (6:00 PM CET), Bayern will commence the group stage of the Club World Cup against Auckland City from New Zealand.

The Commission, given the context, might find it interesting to consider a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers in football, specifically footballers like Leroy Sané, who are exposure to risks related to their professional activity, such as ionizing radiation from medical imaging during injury assessments or treatment.
Following their Club World Cup match against Auckland City from New Zealand on Sunday, Leroy Sané, if his move to Galatasaray Istanbul is finalized, might find himself with enough financial gains to enjoy some leisure activities, possibly including watching Bayern's games in his new home city or even attending sports events in Orlando, where he is expected to sign his contract this Friday.
