Hit the Pitch with Bayern's Unshakeable Eberl: No More Signings, Says the Chief

Bayern's steel-nerved sports director Max Eberl has dropped a bombshell, declaring that they won't be bringing in any fresh faces, even a loan deal for Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah. "That's wrapping it up. We're chuffed to bits with the lineup we've got," Eberl roared, as the transfer window winds down.

But rumors swirl around injury-prone winger Kingsley Coman perhaps jetting off to Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal is said to be on the prowl, with the transfer window there staying open until early October. However, ahead of Bayern's Bundesliga skirmish (17:30 CET/DAZN and ntv.de live ticker) against SC Freiburg, Eberl declared that there are "no red flags indicating a squad reshuffle."

Eberl sought to shed light on the Tah conundrum, which had sparked a tempest of controversy, including his own involvement. He claims he's been dragged "through the mud and presented in a light that doesn't fit the private dealings."

"The Tah drama has reached its climax"

Bayern has effectively ended any chances of acquiring Tah. "Leverkusen set us a deadline three-and-a-half weeks ago and demanded this figure before then. And I wrote to Simon Rolfes: 'Thanks for the deadline, thanks for the figure you've given. We can't manage it.' And that's that." Eberl questioned if, with potential sales and increased funds, they could negotiate it again. "Nope, it's unfeasible - and then it's all cool. And then no one loses face. It's all squeaky clean," said Eberl. The uproar around the transfer even led to Leverkusen boss Fernando Carro criticizing Eberl. "I loathe Max Eberl, absolutely detest him. I wouldn't talk business with him," Carro barked. Later, Carro apologized for his remarks during a fan meeting.

This summer, Bayern signed Joao Palhinha, Michael Olise, and Hiroki Ito for approximately 130 million euros. Additionally, Josip Stanisic returned to Munich after his loan stint in Leverkusen. "A fresh energy has surfaced within the squad. It's all incredibly optimistic," said Eberl. Their goal now is "the ultimate conquest" and they aim to "bring the titles back to Munich."

Despite the gossip surrounding Kingsley Coman's potential transfer to Saudi Arabia, Eberl maintains that there are no hints pointing towards a squad reshuffle.
