Title: Bayern Munich's Eberl Firm on No More Signings, Denies Tah Transfer Controversy
Sports director Max Eberl of Bayern Munich has emphatically confirmed that the Bavarian powerhouse will make no further signings, even ruling out a temporary acquisition of Jonathan Tah from Leverkusen. "That's it. We're done with new players. We're over the moon with our current squad," Eberl declared as the transfer window neared its closure.
Yet, there's a lingering possibility of injury-prone winger Kingsley Coman making a surprising move to Saudi Arabia. The transfer window there remains open until September 2, with Al-Hilal showing keen interest[1]. However, ahead of Bayern's Bundesliga encounter (17:30 CET/DAZN and ntv.de live ticker) against SC Freiburg, Eberl asserted that there are "no significant indications of a squad reshuffle."
Addressing the fuss surrounding the Tah transfer situation, Eberl felt he was "thrown into the mud and portrayed in a manner opposite of the private negotiations."
"... no one ends up in the wrong"
The Tah fiasco has been definitively resolved for Bayern, despite the confusion. "Leverkusen set us a deadline three-and-a-half weeks ago and demanded a certain figure beforehand. I wrote to Simon Rolfes (Note: Sporting director at Bayer): Simon, thanks for the deadline. Thanks for the price you've mentioned. We can't meet either. And that's it." Eberl inquired if, with potential sales and increased funds, they could reconsider it. "No, we can't – and then it's all good. And then no one comes off worse. It's all clean," said Eberl. The transfer uproar even led to criticism from Leverkusen boss Fernando Carro, who lambasted Eberl. "I don't care for Max Eberl, at all. And I wouldn't negotiate with him," Carro had said. Later, he apologized for his remarks during a fan meeting.
This summer, Bayern welcomed Joao Palhinha, Michael Olise, and Hiroki Ito into the fold for around 130 million euros. Additionally, Josip Stanisic returned to Munich following his loan stint in Leverkusen. "A new excitement has energized the squad. Everything feels incredibly positive," said Eberl. Their goal now is "an ultimate triumph" and they aim to "bring titles back to Munich."
Despite Bayern's decision to halt further signings in the Football league transfer window, speculation about Kingsley Coman's potential move to Saudi Arabia continues. Be cautious, as the transfer window at other European clubs may still be open, not just in Saudi Arabia.
