FC Bayern's Women's Soccer Setbacks: Eriksson's Broken Foot and Bühl's Injury

The Bundesliga girls at FC Bayern are grappling with another tough blow after losing key player Klara Bühl to an injury and now, Magdalena Eriksson, swelled by a fracture in her left metatarsal. The Swedish central defender sustained the injury during their 1-1 draw against Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League last Thursday evening. She was forced off the field after just 23 minutes, undergoing surgery on Friday morning.

Bühl herself suffered a muscle injury in the 3-0 Bundesliga victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Monday evening. Both players will now be out for several weeks, dealing another harsh setback to FC Bayern's women's squad, who still have two important fixtures before the winter break – a Bundesliga game against 1. FC Nürnberg on Sunday and the Champions League second leg against Amsterdam on Wednesday.

FC Bayern Squad and Fixture List

According to reports, the FC Bayern women's squad is determined to give their best in the remaining Bundesliga and Champions League matches, despite the losses. The team has faced their fair share of injuries, including:

  1. Sarah Zadrazil: Sidelined due to a torn hamstring during training camp in Seville.
  2. Lena Oberdorf: Hurting from knee ligament injuries.
  3. Katharina Naschenweng: Dealing with knee joint issues.
  4. Georgia Stanway: Out for several months due to an LCL tear in her knee, potentially affecting her availability for the Euro 2025 campaign.
  5. Lauren Hemp: Undergoing knee surgery, as Alex Greenwood did after picking up a medial collateral ligament injury in December.

FC Bayern's women are known for their resilience and ability to adapt to challenges. Though the team is currently grappling with players' absence, they remain optimistic and hopeful for their quick recoveries.
