FC Bayern Munich's sports director Max Eberl and Israeli player agent Pini Zahavi, who represents Leroy Sané, recently held talks at the upscale restaurant "Käfer" on Prinzregentenstraße. These discussions, which came amidst contract negotiations for the 29-year-old offensive star, reportedly did not yield any concrete results.
According to information from AZ, Zahavi's camp is pushing for a higher basic salary for Sané – approximately 13 million euros gross with additional two to three million euros in bonuses. Bayern's current offer includes a fixed salary of ten million euros, with performance-related bonuses between five to six million euros. It remains uncertain whether the Bavarian club will agree to the suggested salary hike.
Leroy Sané finds himself in a strong bargaining position, with several notable clubs vying for his services. Arsenal from England, along with FC Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, has shown significant interest in the winger. Media reports even suggest that Turkish champions Galatasaray Istanbul have offered him a ten-million-euro-per-year deal – net. However, it is worth noting that Bayern is intent on avoiding a signing bonus for Sané, unlike these potential suitors.
Despite the competition, Bayern appears determined to retain Sané's services. His departure would leave a void, as an alternative attack option, Florian Wirtz, has been linked with a move to Liverpool FC. It is crucial to note that negotiations between Zahavi and Bayern's sporting director are ongoing, but no definitive developments have been reported.
