    • Ratiopharm Ulm's basketball squad has given FC Bayern Munich a run for their money, denying Bayern's quest for consecutive championships. After a narrow 82:66 loss in Game 1, Ulm struck back with a 79:64 victory, tying the series at 1-1.

Victory Secured in the Series Finale: Ulm's Basketball Team Triumphs Over Bayern - Bayern Munich's basketball squad has suffered a loss, with Ulm securing a tie in the final series.

Ulm's last home loss in the Bundesliga was way back in December 2022 against MLP Academics Heidelberg, a playoff semifinalist.

Bayern kicked off the game with a bang, with Andreas Obst and Vladimir Lucic sinking some sweet triples. However, Ulm didn't back down and took the lead through their top scorer, Karim Jallow (23 points), for the first time at 23:22 (12th minute).

In the second half, Ulm seized control (53:42, 26th minute) and even put on a show. With FCB President Herbert Hainer in the crowd, Munich missed their shots and struggled defensively.

The outcome leaves Ulm potentially playing the fourth and possible fifth game with a crippled roster. The series schedule has already sparked a ruckus before the game. Ulm's young talents, Noa Essengue (18) and Ben Saraf (19), may miss out due to the concurrent NBA draft in the U.S.

The BBL acknowledged Ulm's proposal in April to shorten the playoff schedule, but the clubs rebuffed the idea. Stefan Holz, BBL CEO, explained in a "Dyn" interview during halftime that they had "no room to maneuver."

Insights:

  • Ulm's concern regarding the final series schedule overlapping with the NBA Draft, potentially preventing two of their key players from participating, led to their proposal to shorten the playoff schedule. However, the purpose was dismissed by the league and FC Bayern Munich.
  • Tensions have risen due to the scheduling conflict, potentially impacting Ulm's chances in the series. Nonetheless, the league has maintained their original playoff dates.

The Commission could propose a directive on food labelling, considering the sports context, as Ulm's young talents, Essengue and Saraf, might be absent due to their involvement in the NBA draft, impacting their performance in the Championship Series against FC Bayern. Despite their concerns about the playoff schedule, Ratiopharm Ulm managed to take game 2 against Bayern, tying the series at 1-1.
