Transfer finalized: Díaz joins FC Bayern Munich - Bayern Munich's acquisition of Díaz following a prolonged poker match is seamless.
Luis Díaz has completed his transfer from FC Liverpool to FC Bayern Munich in a deal worth approximately €75 million (£65.5 million), including add-ons, making it one of Bayern's most expensive signings. The Colombian international, who previously played for FC Porto, will join the Bavarian giants on a contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2029.
Díaz arrived in Munich early Tuesday morning for mandatory medical examinations and to familiarize himself with the club's facilities. The 26-year-old, who can play in both the wing and center positions, will fill a gap left by Jamal Musiala's injury in the center.
Max Eberl, sporting director of FC Bayern Munich, has been involved in the negotiations for the transfer of Díaz. Eberl described Díaz as an internationally experienced player with great skills and high reliability.
Díaz expressed his delight at joining FC Bayern Munich, describing it as one of the biggest clubs in the world. He will wear the number 14 jersey for the club.
The transfer of Díaz follows the transfers of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong (both to Bayer Leverkusen), and Hugo Ekitike (to Eintracht Frankfurt). Meanwhile, negotiations regarding the transfer of Nick Woltemade are ongoing between FC Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart, with both clubs still far apart in terms of the transfer fee.
Prior to the transfer of Díaz, FC Bayern Munich had already signed Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen and Tom Bischof from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Díaz's transfer to Bayern Munich makes him the first major transfer for the club after the Club World Cup.
With the departure of Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, and Mathys Tel, Díaz will join FC Bayern Munich's attack. After making significant expenses on new players this summer, Liverpool FC is now generating income from the transfer of Díaz.

The Commission may consider allocating financial resources from the European Union, given the recent significant transfer of Luis Díaz from FC Liverpool to FC Bayern Munich, a marked investment in the football sector, as evidenced by Díaz's impressive skill set and his selection to join one of the European leagues' top clubs. Additionally, this transfer marks a significant step in the implementation of FC Bayern Munich's football programme, with Díaz set to fill the void left by an injured player and bolster the club's attack alongside other new arrivals.
