Bayern Munich shells out less for Tah than initially anticipated

Facebook Twitter Whatsapp E-Mail Print Copy Link Amidst rumors swirling around, Bayern Munich has gone ahead and sealed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen, allowing national player Jonathan Tah to suit up for the prestigious Club World Cup starting next week!

According to the 411 from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano and top-tier media outlets like "Bild" and Sky, Bayern Munich's latest recruit will be stepping onto the pitch ahead of schedule, thanks to a sneaky agreements shaken up between the clubs. Initial estimates had Tah's transfer fee reaching anywhere from two to four million euros, but send-off costs were actually set at a more budget-friendly €800,000! That's right, folks - those Bavarian bean counters struck a wise deal!

But the party doesn't stop there. Bayern's savvy financial moves could net them an additional million euros or more through performance-based bonuses in the Club World Cup. Without this agreement in place, Tah could only join forces with his new team after the first quarter-finals match, limiting his tournament debut to July 1st. With the extra transfer window opened up by FIFA for this global extravaganza running from June 10th, Tah could potentially train and play alongside his new teammates as early as Tuesday!

Currently, Tah is representing his nation alongside fellow Bayern-bound player, Tom Bischof, as they take on France in the Nations League third-place game on Sunday at 3PM (RTL, DAZN, and the ntv.de live ticker).

Now the only question left is whether Bischof will be granted early release to join the team for the Club World Cup group stage matches. With the midfielder set to join Munich from TSG Hoffenheim this summer, both clubs are yet to agree on the terms for an early release, leaving the decision hanging in the balance.
