Without Coach Herbert: Bayern Loses in Istanbul - Bayern Munich seeks redemption in German Cup after EuroLeague setback

FC Bayern Munich will take on Vet-Concept Gladiators Trier in the German Cup quarterfinal this Sunday, eager to lift the trophy after last season's final loss. The team comes into this match following a EuroLeague defeat, with head coach Gordon Herbert absent due to illness.

In their recent EuroLeague game, Munich suffered a narrow 72–74 loss to Anadolu Efes Istanbul, marking their second consecutive defeat. Despite the loss, Isiaha Mike stood out as the leading scorer with 15 points. Unfortunately, world champions Andreas Obst and Johannes Voigtmann were rested for the game.

Currently mid-table in the 18-team EuroLeague, Munich has secured five wins and incurred six losses. Assistant coach TJ Parker stepped in to lead the team in the absence of head coach Gordon Herbert, who was unwell. As of now, there's no information on a potential successor to Herbert.
