Bayern Munich Secure Preseason Win Over Olympique Lyon

In a wet and wild preseason friendly at the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich emerged victorious with a 2-1 win over Olympique Lyon. The match, played before 34,500 spectators, saw a standout performance from Bayern's new striker, Luis Díaz.

Díaz, who made his debut for the German giants in this encounter, immediately showed his impact after coming on at halftime. He won a penalty for Bayern within minutes of his introduction, demonstrating his usual intensity on the left wing and creating multiple goal-scoring chances. Although he did not find the back of the net himself, he set up the lead goal for FC Bayern.

Michael Olise, who converted the penalty (53rd minute) and scored the second goal (62nd minute), was the hero for Bayern on the night, securing a vital victory for the Bavarian side.

However, the match was not without its setbacks. Bayern's midfielder, Aleksandar Pavlovic, suffered an orbital fracture in training on Friday and underwent surgery. The length of his absence from the team is not disclosed, leaving a gap in the midfield.

Last season, Pavlovic missed several games due to Pfeiffer's glandular fever after suffering a metatarsal fracture in the first half of the season. The Portuguese footballer, João Palhinha, who is reportedly set to join Tottenham Hotspur on loan, was not part of the squad due to imminent transfer talks. The club has announced Palhinha's departure, and Bayern and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed on a deal for his transfer.

Despite these challenges, Bayern managed to secure the win, with Olise's second goal proving to be the decisive moment. Olympique Lyon's Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez scored a consolation goal in the 77th minute, reducing the deficit to 2:1, but it was not enough to salvage a point for the French side.

As Bayern prepare for their next friendly match against Tottenham Hotspur next Thursday, they will be hoping for a full-strength squad to face their English counterparts. The Colombian striker, Luis Díaz, will undoubtedly be a key player in their attack, having shown his potential in his debut performance.
