Bayern Munich responds to Woltemade's demand: "Time for action"
In a recent development, VfB Stuttgart has ruled out Nick Woltemade's transfer to Bayern Munich for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The decision was confirmed by Stuttgart's CEO, Alexander Wehrle, on August 16, 2025.
Initially, Bayern had made an offer reportedly exceeding €60 million plus bonuses, which Stuttgart was open to accepting. However, they later raised their valuation to around €75 million and rejected Bayern's offer. Woltemade was included in Stuttgart’s lineup for the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Bayern, confirming he will play for Stuttgart this season.
Despite this setback, indications suggest that the move to Bayern may still happen, but it is expected to be delayed until summer 2026. This postponement could be linked to Bayern’s potential deal involving offensive player Kingsley Coman, although the specific connection or effect of Coman's transfer on Woltemade’s status has not been explicitly confirmed.
Christoph Freund, Sporting Director of FC Bayern Munich, has commented on the ongoing speculation about Woltemade's future, stating that there is a lot of talk and speculation. He also mentioned that there is no room to maneuver due to Kingsley Coman still being a Bayern Munich player. Freund clarified that Coman's illness was the reason for his absence from the squad in Zurich before and after the match.
Meanwhile, Wehrle has stated that if FC Bayern really wants to sign Woltemade, they should be able to reach a solution within the given time frame. The Supercup clash between the two teams will take place in Stuttgart at 20:30 CET.
It's important to note that the potential transfer of Kingsley Coman is not confirmed. Freund has also commented that the potential 30 million euro transfer of Coman is not final. The future of both players remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: Nick Woltemade will play for VfB Stuttgart this season.
