Stuttgart Rules Out Woltemade Transfer to Bayern Munich

The highly anticipated Supercup match between VfB Stuttgart and Bayern Munich is set to kick off at 8:30 PM on Saturday, and will be broadcast on Sat.1 and Sky. However, one key player will not be making a move to Bayern this summer, as VfB Stuttgart has officially ruled out the transfer of Nick Woltemade.

Stuttgart's CEO Alexander Wehrle confirmed on August 16, 2025, that Woltemade will remain at Stuttgart for the entire season, and that the transfer talks with Bayern are definitively closed. Bayern Munich is fully aware of Stuttgart's position, and no further negotiations will take place this summer.

Reports suggest that Stuttgart had set a valuation of around €75 million for Woltemade, which Bayern did not meet. Bayern had offered around €60 million plus bonuses and clauses, but Stuttgart rejected it and demanded the higher fee.

Wehrle implied that if Bayern Munich truly wants to sign Woltemade, they should be able to find a solution within the given time. The transfer period for football transfers in Germany extends until 1 September, but Wehrle reiterates that no further negotiations will take place after the Supercup match.

Woltemade has publicly expressed his wish to play for Bayern Munich in the future for about six and a half weeks, but it seems that his dream move may have to wait. Wehrle stated that ideally, everything should be sorted out by kick-off of the Supercup match.

Sebastian Hoeneß, who is in charge of Bayern's first team, can continue planning with Woltemade as desired, given the current situation. Max Eberl, Bayern's sporting director, stated that a transfer of Woltemade was "off the table", but left the possibility open due to the transfer period running until 1 September.

Despite the deadlock, the Supercup match between VfB Stuttgart and Bayern Munich promises to be an exciting affair, with both teams eager to start the new season on a high note. Woltemade remains with VfB Stuttgart, as of the time of this article, due to the unsatisfactory transfer offer from Bayern Munich. The ultimatum is that a decision must be made in Woltemade's matter by the Supercup match against Bayern Munich on Saturday.
