Bayern's Budget-Friendly Move for Tah: An Early Release for the Club World Cup

Bayern Munich pays a lower transfer fee than anticipation for Tah

Get ready for a fresh face in the Bayern Munich squad, as national player Jonathan Tah looks set to join the German record champions as early as next week! The Bavarian giants have reportedly reached a sneaky-cheap transfer agreement with Bayer Leverkusen[1].

After much haggling, Bayern is reported to be shelling out only 800,000 euros for the 29-year-old defender[2]. This tidy sum could rise to over one million euros through performance-based bonuses, provided the team dazzles in the Club World Cup[2].

In the absence of this agreement, Tah would have had to wait until July 1st to suit up for the football titans[2]. However, this early release means he could jet off to the States as soon as this Tuesday and take on Auckland City as early as next Sunday[2].

With FIFA setting up an extra transfer window for the Club World Cup, participants can bring aboard new talent or extend expiring contracts until June 10th[2].

As of now, Tah is still with the national team, facing France in the Nations League third-place play-off this Sunday (3 pm/RTL and DAZN, also in the ntv.de live ticker)[2].

It remains obscure whether Tom Bischof will grace the Bayern pitch during the Club World Cup group stage[2]. The midfielder, who's currently with the DFB team like Tah, is set to join Munich from TSG Hoffenheim this summer. However, a deal for an early release between the clubs is yet to be inked[2].
