Bayern Munich lends out Paul Wanner.
A Fresh Perspective:
Before the closing of the transfer window, SV Elversberg have bolstered their roster with the addition of promising midfielder Paul Wanner. The prodigious 17-year-old is now on a season-long loan from German powerhouse FC Bayern Munich.
Known for his versatility on the pitch, capable of playing centrally as well as out wide, Paul Wanner made history by becoming the youngest ever Bayern Munich player when he made his Bundesliga debut on January 7, 2022, against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He was just 16 years and 15 days old, a record that also ranked him as the second youngest player in overall Bundesliga history. Impressively, he later signed a professional contract with Bayern Munich, having been part of their youth setup ever since joining them at the age of 12 in 2018 after starting his football journey at SV Amtzell and FV Ravensburg.
To date, the talented teenager has six Bundesliga appearances under his belt for Bayern Munich and 15 caps for Germany's youth national teams in the U17 and U18 divisions.
Ole Book, SVE's sporting director, is thrilled about the new acquisition, stating, "Paul is incredibly gifted with an impressive technical ability and exceptional tactical awareness. He's going to bring energy and fresh ideas to our offense." Paul Wanner shares the excitement, expressing, "I'm really excited to take on this new challenge with SV Elversberg, with the team and the club. My aim is to help the team achieve success this season and continue my development as a player."
While it was previously reported that Wanner would play for FC Heidenheim for the 2024/25 campaign, recent speculations suggest that he might instead find himself at VfB Stuttgart or Eintracht Frankfurt for the upcoming season, with those clubs expressing interest in signing the young talent[1][2][3].

(Officially, Paul Wanner is currently enjoying his off-season before joining SV Elversberg for the 2023/2024 season, but rumors swirl regarding his potential temporary transfer to FC Heidenheim for next season[1][2]. As a talented central midfielder, Wanner showed an impressive debut last season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his first four games, though his form dipped as Heidenheim's results took a turn for the worse. However, he delivered a crucial assist in the promotion-relegation playoff, helping Heidenheim maintain their Bundesliga status[1][2]. Despite interest from multiple clubs for the upcoming season, including VfB Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt[1][2][3], Bayern Munich is reportedly considering other loan prospects as well.)
(It's worth noting that Wanner made history when he appeared in a Bundesliga game at the age of 16 years and 15 days, making him the youngest player in Bayern Munich's history and the second youngest overall in the Bundesliga.[4])
