Bayern Munich is receiving a demand from VfB in the Woltemade game of bluff.
Stuttgart Stands Firm on Woltemade Transfer
In a turn of events, VfB Stuttgart has officially ruled out a summer transfer for highly-rated midfielder Nick Woltemade, putting an end to the ongoing negotiations with FC Bayern Munich.
Stuttgart CEO Alexander Wehrle confirmed on August 16, 2025, that Woltemade "is our player and will play for us this season," and that the matter is closed with Bayern Munich fully aware of this decision.
The negotiations ended after Bayern’s highest offer reportedly reached just over €60 million, below Stuttgart’s valuation of around €75 million. Stuttgart set a deadline coinciding with the Supercup match on August 17, after which they declined further offers and ended negotiations. Both clubs agreed not to continue talks, making a move this summer impossible.
Despite Bayern showing ongoing interest, no new formal offers have been submitted, and Stuttgart is prioritizing keeping Woltemade at the club for the 2025/26 season, including discussions about a possible contract extension or salary increase. However, Bayern officials have not entirely ruled out a future transfer but have accepted that this summer’s deal is off.
The Supercup match on Saturday serves as a deadline for Bayern Munich to make a decision on Woltemade's transfer. If Bayern Munich truly want to sign Woltemade, they will need to find a solution within the time frame set by VfB Stuttgart.
The reported offer from Bayern Munich for Woltemade is 55 million euros, consisting of a 50 million transfer fee and five million in potential bonus payments. Nick Woltemade has publicly expressed his desire to play for FC Bayern Munich in the future.
According to Wehrle, if FC Bayern Munich truly wants to sign Woltemade, they should be able to find a solution in that time. Wehrle also stated that ideally, everything should be sorted out by kick-off of the Supercup match.
The Supercup match is scheduled for Saturday at 20:30 CET and will be broadcast on Sat.1 and Sky.
