Bayern Munich Pursue Permanent Transfer for Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku
Bayern Munich's pursuit of Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku is currently in a state of negotiation, as the Bavarian giants look to strengthen their attack following a series of departures.
Initial loan proposals have been rejected by Chelsea, with the London club insisting on a permanent sale valuing Nkunku around €50 million. Bayern, however, are reluctant to pay the full amount upfront, having already spent heavily on other transfers this summer.
Despite the financial hurdles, Bayern are reportedly preparing to make a new permanent transfer offer. Personal terms between Bayern and Nkunku are said to be fully agreed, but negotiations between the clubs are ongoing without a firm agreement yet.
Other clubs, such as Newcastle, Inter Milan, and Aston Villa, are also interested in Nkunku, potentially complicating Bayern's chances.
The sporting director of Munich, Max Eberl, is reportedly in contact with Nkunku's management, and the potential transfer is being considered as an alternative to the failed pursuit of Nick Woltemade. So far, only Luis Díaz has been signed as a replacement for the departing players.
Nkunku, a 27-year-old French footballer, played for RB Leipzig from 2019 to 2023 before moving to Chelsea for a reported €60 million. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he won the Conference League in the spring and the Club World Cup in July.
