FC Bayern Munich rekindles squad planning after Wirtz transfer collapse with potential move for Eberechi Eze

Munich - The German record champions are exploring the possibility of bolstering their offense with the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace, following the aborted transfer of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Eze, a 26-year-old English national player, has been the subject of interest from several sources, including major sports publications like the Daily Mail, the Mirror, and Sport Bild. Known for his adaptability on the pitch, the midfielder can play in central offensive midfield or on the left wing, making him an appealing target for Bayern.

In the recently concluded 2024/25 season, Eze scored an impressive 14 goals and set up 11 more in 33 competitive matches for Crystal Palace. A key factor in Bayern's potential pursuit of the player is his contractually agreed release clause, which allows him to depart for approximately 70 million euros plus potential bonuses.

Eze's possible transfer could also benefit from his prior association with another Bayern player, Michael Olise, with whom he previously played at Crystal Palace.

Aside from Eze, Bayern is scrutinizing other options to reinforce their offense, including Kaoru Mitoma of Brighton & Hove Albion and Rafael Leao of AC Milan. The decision on Eze may also be influenced by the potential exit of Leroy Sané, whose future at the club remains uncertain.

The upcoming weeks will be critical for Bayern's squad planning as they continue their quest for high-profile reinforcements for the next season. Whether Eze will join the ranks at Säbener Straße remains to be seen.
