Bayern is being presented with a demanding decree by VfB in the high-stakes game of Woltemade.

In a dramatic turn of events, the transfer saga surrounding Nick Woltemade, the national team striker of VfB Stuttgart, has come to an end. On August 20, 2025, Stuttgart's CEO, Alexander Wehrle, definitively ruled out the transfer of Woltemade to Bayern Munich this summer.

Wehrle made his statements at an event of the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and the "Stuttgarter Nachrichten", emphasising that Woltemade is "our player and will play for us this season". He also added that "the matter is closed", with Bayern Munich fully aware of this stance.

The rejection comes despite Bayern's interest and personal terms already agreed with the player. Stuttgart, however, rejected Bayern’s offers, including a €60 million bid plus bonuses and resale clauses, citing both the high valuation gap and sporting losses if Woltemade were to leave.

Prior to this final stance, Wehrle had given Bayern a firm deadline before the Supercup match on August 10 to resolve the transfer, warning that the saga should be settled by kickoff. However, due to negotiations stalling over valuation differences (Bayern’s €55 million offer was previously rejected), no agreement was reached.

Bayern board member Max Eberl had hinted that the deal was "off the table" amid difficulties, which Wehrle later confirmed as accurate. Post-Supercup, there is an acknowledgement that Woltemade will remain at Stuttgart for the 2025/26 season, though there is speculation Bayern may revisit the transfer in the future.

The Supercup match between VfB Stuttgart and FC Bayern Munich is scheduled for 8:30 PM on Saturday and will be broadcast on Sat.1 and Sky. Fans eager to witness the exciting clash can tune in to catch all the action.
