Wirtz seems firm in his decision to ditch Leverkusen and link up with Liverpool. He also passed on the German juggernauts, Bayern Munich, who were chasing him quite forcefully.
Wirtz's contract with Bayer runs until the end of June 2027, and it doesn't include a release clause, so the buyout amount is negotiable. With Manchester City said to have backed out of the race due to the exorbitant total cost, it's clear that Wirtz is a valuable commodity [2].
