Bayer 04: Tapsoba Returns Injured from Africa Cup - Bayer Leverkusen’s Tapsoba sidelined for weeks after AFCON injury blow

Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba will miss the next two to three weeks due to a muscle injury. The centre-back picked up the problem while playing at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco earlier this month. Tapsoba’s injury occurred during the tournament, where he represented Burkina Faso. His team exited in the round of 16 after a heavy 3–0 loss to Ivory Coast. Leverkusen’s medical staff have since assessed the defender and confirmed he will be sidelined for several weeks. The club has not yet announced a precise return date but expects him back in training by early February. The absence leaves Leverkusen without a key defender for upcoming fixtures. Tapsoba’s recovery will be monitored closely as the team prepares for the second half of the Bundesliga season. His return to full fitness is targeted within the next three weeks.
