Cops Nab Culprits for Brutal Slaying in Bayelsa
Bayelsa Police Detain Slayers of Government Diri's Relative, plus Three Additional Individuals
In a chilling turn of events, the authorities in Bayelsa State have taken three suspected killers off the streets, following the gruesome murder of Odeinyefa Ogbolosingha, a relative of Governor Douye Diri, and two others.
According to our sources, the horrific incident transpired in the tranquil Kalaba community, part of the Yenagoa Local Government Area.
While acknowledging the shocking nature of the act, the police announced that the killings were allegedly orchestrated by three individuals: Gideon Atama (32), Bethlehem Nwanlia (49), and Clever Ovo (33).
During a press briefing in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu, revealed that the hunt for the killers led to the capture of Clever Ovo. In a related development, Gideon Atama, another member of the gang, was apprehended with a cellphone and dressed in camouflage military attire. Upon examination, the police discovered incriminating evidence, including images of assorted firearms and voice notes chronicling their previous criminal exploits. The investigation also uncovered indications that the gang was involved in the destruction of infrastructure and facilities in the area, with statements suggesting that they had sponsors aiding their activities.
In another significant operation, a 200-year-old boat captain, Danile Williams, was arrested following accusations of his involvement in pipeline vandalism. Williams was alleged to have participated in a recent attack on the Tebedaba-Brass trunkline at Lakosogbene community.
