Traffic Jam or Clear Roads - Bavaria Before the Autumn Holidays - Bavaria's Autumn Holidays Kick Off: Munich & Nuremberg Airports Prepare for Busy Period
Bavaria's autumn holidays are underway, with schools closing on 31 October. Munich and Nuremberg airports are gearing up for a busy period, with Munich expecting around 1.2 million passengers and 8,300 flights, while Nuremberg anticipates 140,000 passengers and 950 takeoffs and landings.
The most popular destinations during this break include Antalya in Turkey, Hurghada in Egypt, and Mallorca. Despite the high passenger numbers, airports have not reported significant delays so far. Travelers are also heading to major cities like London for early Christmas shopping.
Heavy traffic is expected, particularly in Munich and Nuremberg, and on routes heading south. Roadworks are underway on routes to Italy, including the Lueg Bridge at the Brenner Pass, which is reduced to a single lane.
Bavaria's schools will resume classes on 10 November. Both Munich and Nuremberg airports are well-prepared to handle the increased traffic, ensuring a smooth travel experience for passengers during the autumn break.
