For 19,000 Apprentices in Bavaria, Final Exams Kick Off - Bavaria’s 19,000 apprentices begin final exams for skilled worker certification

Final examinations for apprentices in Bavaria have officially begun. Around 19,000 trainees are now taking their last steps toward becoming qualified skilled workers. The tests, organized by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK), mark the start of a crucial phase for future professionals across the region.

The written exams kicked off on Tuesday for various IHK training professions. Over 12,000 candidates are sitting tests this week in more than 60 commercial and related fields. Another 7,000 future graduates in over 150 technical trades will follow from December 2.

The IHK coordinates these assessments nationwide, with most written exams held at vocational schools. To pass, apprentices must complete written tests and, in many cases, oral or practical exams after the new year. Supporting this effort are around 27,000 volunteer examiners from Bavarian companies, alongside vocational school teachers.

In Bavaria, the IHK oversees roughly 60 percent of all apprenticeships. The organization relies on its network of volunteers to ensure fair and thorough evaluations for each candidate.

The examinations represent a key milestone for thousands of apprentices in Bavaria. Successful candidates will earn their IHK vocational qualifications, allowing them to enter the workforce as certified professionals. The process highlights the region’s strong collaboration between industry, education, and volunteer examiners.
