It remains mild and sunny - Bavaria braces for spring warmth and icy nights this week
Bavaria is set for a mix of spring-like warmth and lingering cold this week. While Thursday promises sunshine and mild conditions, frosty nights and icy patches will persist in higher areas. The contrast between daytime highs and chilly evenings will mark the region's weather pattern.
Temperatures on Thursday will climb to a pleasant 17°C (63°F) in some areas. The Lower Main region can expect highs of 16°C (61°F), while the Alps will stay cooler at around 9°C (48°F). Despite the warmth, nights will remain cold and frosty.
The Zugspitze summit will see particularly harsh conditions, with temperatures hovering near –6°C (21°F). Icy patches may also form in the Alpine foothills, posing risks for travellers. Southern Bavaria could spot fair-weather cumulus clouds, though skies will generally stay clear. The forecast suggests abundant sunshine and scattered clouds across most of the region. This blend of mild days and freezing nights reflects Bavaria's transitional spring weather.
Residents and visitors should prepare for sharp temperature swings over the coming days. Daytime warmth will give way to frost at night, especially in mountainous zones. The mix of sunshine, lingering cold, and possible ice requires caution in higher elevations.
