Snowflakes expected in Bavaria - Bavaria braces for first snowfall as temperatures plunge below freezing

Bavaria is set for its first snowfall of the season, with northern Franconia expected to see isolated snowflakes or rain on Tuesday. Meanwhile, cities in Bavarian Swabia and Upper Bavaria can look forward to sunshine, but with temperatures dropping to near freezing at night.

The German Weather Service predicts widespread light snowfall above 600 meters. In the Bavarian Forest, temperatures could dip as low as -3°C. Tuesday brings ample sunshine to Swabia and Upper Bavaria, with highs between 1 and 7°C. However, snow is also expected in the higher elevations of the Bavarian Forest and scattered flurries or sleet may reach as low as 400 meters in Lower Franconia. In the southern Alpine foothills, accumulations of one to five centimeters of fresh snow are possible. Nighttime temperatures will plummet below freezing, ranging from 0 to -4°C, causing icy conditions.

Bavaria's first snowfall of the season is expected today, even outside the alpine regions. While Tuesday brings sunshine to some areas, temperatures will drop significantly at night, leading to icy conditions. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to take necessary precautions.
