After a career spanning nearly seven seasons, Javonte Green is set to join the Detroit Pistons for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The defensive-minded forward has played for the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, and Cleveland Cavaliers before securing a one-year deal with the Pistons in August 2025.

Green's NBA career statistics reveal an average of approximately 5.3 points per game across 263 games. His regular season stats highlight a career field goal percentage around 54.1%, a three-point shooting percentage near 34.5%, and roughly 3.1 rebounds per game. His scoring peaked at 12.2 points per game in a limited sample during the 2023–24 season with Chicago.

In the 2024-25 season, Green split his time between the Pelicans and Cavaliers, playing in 68 games combined and averaging 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in about 18.5 minutes per contest.

The Pistons, who secured their first winning season since 2016 and clinched their first playoff berth since 2019, are looking to bolster their wing rotation with Green's addition. He will join a roster that includes Ausar Thompson, Jaden Ivey, Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert, and Ronald Holland II.

The Pistons were able to sign Caris LeVert and land Robinson from the Miami Heat via a sign-and-trade. However, recent plans for the team to upgrade their roster have been put on hold due to Malik Beasley's ongoing gambling investigation.

Green, who went undrafted in 2019 from Radford University, has appeared in 263 career NBA regular-season games (74 starts). He made a significant impact with the Cavaliers, recording a season-high 15 points in a game against the Golden State Warriors.

The Detroit Pistons currently have 13 players signed to standard contracts, and with Green's addition, they are looking to build a strong team for the upcoming season. The Pistons' core, which includes Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Ivey, and Thompson, is expected to lead the team towards success in the upcoming season.
