Caitlin Clark's Return from Groin Injury Remains Uncertain

The expected return date for Caitlin Clark, the star player of the Indiana Fever, from her right groin injury during the 2025 WNBA season remains uncertain with no official timeline. Clark has missed at least 14 consecutive games since she was injured on July 15, 2025 [1][2].

During this time, Clark has also suffered a very mild bone bruise on her left ankle on August 7, but this has not reportedly affected her groin rehabilitation [2][4]. Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White has emphasized a careful, slow rehabilitation approach focused on Clark's long-term health, describing the process as "day-to-day" with no set timetable [2].

Initial hopes for her return to practice around mid-to-late August have been pushed back, and as of August 22, she had not returned to practice [1][4]. WNBA analyst Ros Gold-Onwude suggested it might be wise to shut down Clark’s season due to repeated setbacks and the risk of further injury [3].

In her absence, the Fever have struggled, with a record of 5-8 when Clark plays this season. Clark's shooting efficiency this season is 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from 3-point range, and 82.0% from the free-throw line.

Clark's career has been interrupted by injuries this season, testing her durability and ability to adapt. Her debut season ended with Rookie of the Year honors, All-WNBA First Team selection, and the ESPY Award for Best WNBA Player.

The Fever's medical staff continues to prioritize Clark's long-term health, and her availability for Tuesday's contest against the Dallas Wings depends on her response to her latest round of on-court work [1][2]. Clark has yet to log much, if any, full-contact work during her recovery.

As the season approaches its final stages, fans and the Fever team alike will be eagerly waiting for Clark's return to the court. However, with no official timetable set, the focus remains on her recovery and ensuring her long-term health.
