BASF boosts Durban plant to secure African dispersion supply chains

BASF has expanded its production capacity for dispersions at its Durban, South Africa site. The move strengthens the company's supply chain and supports growth for customers in architectural coatings, construction, and paper industries.

The Durban plant has been part of BASF's operations for 60 years, showing a long-term commitment to the region. This latest expansion improves supply security and maintains high product quality for markets across East, West, and Southern Africa.

The site is one of six dispersion production locations in BASF's EMEA network. Alongside capacity increases in Durban and Dilovası, Turkey, the company has also modernised its Ludwigshafen plant in Germany. These upgrades reinforce BASF's leading position in the region.

A new state-of-the-art application laboratory has also been set up in Durban. This facility enhances technical support and helps customers develop better formulations.

The expansion ensures a more reliable supply chain for BASF's customers. It also supports their growth plans by providing consistent access to high-quality dispersions. The investment highlights BASF's dedication to the African market and its technical service capabilities.
