Suárez, now 33 years old, has had a standout 2025 season. He currently ranks among MLB leaders with 36 home runs and 87 RBIs by the trade deadline. His impressive performance earned him a second All-Star selection and a record-tying four National League Player of the Week awards. On April 26, 2025, he made history by becoming only the 19th player in MLB history to hit four home runs in a single game.
Despite a decline in defensive metrics this year (-6 outs above average at third base), Suárez's recent defensive grades over the past two years were positive (+11 OAA in 2023 and +3 OAA in 2024). His 2024 season showed a remarkable turnaround, with a strong performance that led Arizona to pick up his $17 million option for 2025.
Suárez's previous stint with Seattle was productive, but his home run totals may have been limited due to T-Mobile Park, which is less favorable to right-handed power hitters—ranked 24th out of 28 in right-handed home run park factor.
