Ethan Holliday, son of seven-time MLB All-Star Matt Holliday, made his professional baseball debut on August 12, 2025, with the Single-A Fresno Grizzlies, the minor league affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

In his debut game, Holliday showcased his hitting skills, going 2-for-4, recording a single and a double. On his second at-bat, he hit his first professional hit on the first pitch he saw. By August 16, 2025, Holliday had collected his first professional RBI with Fresno.

Before his debut, Holliday honed his skills in the Arizona Complex League, where he demonstrated his hitting prowess, including a triple, while serving as a designated hitter. He was drafted No. 4 overall by the Rockies in the 2025 MLB draft and is viewed as one of the top prospects and a key part of the Rockies' future core talent.

Matt Holliday, Ethan's father, was also drafted by Colorado in 1998 and played his first five seasons with the Rockies. He retired as a member of the Colorado Rockies, having completed a 15-year career. It's worth noting that Ethan's older brother, Jackson, is currently the second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles, having been the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.

As Ethan embarks on his professional career, he is expected to develop as a shortstop with strong offensive potential. The debut marks an exciting time for the Holliday family and the Colorado Rockies as they look forward to Ethan's growth and contributions to the team.
