Los Angeles Angels' Jose Soriano Shows Progress Amid Injury Setback

In a recent development, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jose Soriano has been placed on the 15-day injured list due to a bruised right forearm, sustained during a game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.

Soriano, who turns 27 on Oct. 20, had a record of 10-11 this season with a 4.26 ERA in 31 starts. Despite the injury, his impressive performance this year has not gone unnoticed. Los Angeles Angels interim manager, Ray Montgomery, has highlighted the numerous positives in Soriano's performance and expressed optimism about his improvements for next season.

Montgomery emphasized that previously identified areas for improvement for Soriano are no longer considered mountainous but more like a molehill. He further added that Soriano's challenges for improvement are manageable and not insurmountable. Montgomery also congratulated Soriano for making 31 starts in the big leagues and pitching 160-plus innings.

Soriano himself expressed that he feels 'a little bit better than yesterday' but added that 'I'm still fighting.' There is no information available about when Soriano will be ready to play again or when he might make his first appearance in the next season.

To fill Soriano's spot on the roster, the Los Angeles Angels recalled left-handed pitcher Sam Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake. Montgomery, however, did not provide any updates on the team's plans to replace Soriano in the short term or announce any changes to the starting rotation or pitching staff.

The injury came at a cost for the Los Angeles Angels, who suffered a 9-2 loss to the Brewers on Wednesday. Montgomery did not announce any new details about Soriano's injury or recovery timeline.

As Soriano continues to recover, Los Angeles Angels fans will be eagerly awaiting his return to the mound. His resilience and determination, evident in his comments, are a testament to his spirit and dedication to the game.
