Baseball League Buys Minority Share in Jomboy Multimedia Company
MLB teams up with Jomboy Media, seizing a chunk of the digital media company and teaming up to boost MLB's online presence. The monetary details of the deal remain hush-hush.
According to the agreement, MLB plans to pepper their digital platforms with Jomboy Media's expertise. This partnership aims to materialize through joint projects like the MLB All-Star Game and creative collaborations to amplify Jomboy Media's stable of intellectual property (IP), which includes "Talkin' Baseball," "Talkin' Yanks," and "The Warehouse Games."
Jomboy Media has been on a rocket ride in the past year, smashing revenue and profitability records in 2024, landing them in the top 4% of digital publishers. They've also bagged brand deals with MLB partners like Corona and T-Mobile.
One of Jomboy Media's crowd-pleasers is "The Warehouse Games," a sports league inspired by past backyard games, backed by heavyweights like DirecTV. Going forward, MLB will partner with Jomboy Media to get big league stars and their media pals to participate in "The Warehouse Games." The Games are closing in on 400 million all-time views and ballooned 63% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2025, according to Jomboy Media.
With this partnership, Jomboy Media gets the keys to MLB and club intellectual property and chuckles at the prospect of slapping their signature on new apparel, home goods, and various items to be peddled through their direct-to-customer retail site and other distribution channels.
"I'm flabbergasted by the backing our community provides. When we started chatting baseball on the internet, it was just a jolly jape. Our community is why we've levelled-up from a hobby into something unforeseen. Partnering with MLB marks a monumental moment for Jomboy Media, and this partnership will enable us to dish out storytelling that goes deeper than ever before," Jimmy "Jomboy" O'Brien, founder of Jomboy Media, exclaimed.
"We've always been captivated by the devoted fanbase of Jimmy O'Brien and his knack for connecting with baseball aficionados. This partnership ensures Jomboy Media will have the resources and access to MLB intellectual property to keep growing," MLB Deputy Commissioner, Business and Media Noah Garden, added.
