It's wrapping up for Southern California high school sports, and the regional playoffs for baseball and softball kick off this Tuesday!
Some schools chose to sit this one out, with students electing to focus on grad ceremonies, club teams, or summer adventures.
Some coaches are using this week as a chance to groom the youngsters for the next season, while others are aiming for one last hurrah, bagging championship titles on Saturday!

City Section baseball reps have had a week's rest under their belts, giving them a strong pitching advantage— advantageous for Open Division champion El Camino Real, who welcomes Point Loma at home in the Divison II opener. Christian Gastelum will grace the mound for the Royals, who are fully stocked with their ace pitchers, Luke Howe and Devin Gonor, ready to deliver if needed!
Without West Ranch in the game, Mater Dei took Shangri-La, moving up to Division 1 for the regionals, facing Crespi in an opener at Hartunian Field. St. John Bosco, top seed in Divison 1, warm up at home against St. Augustine.
