Heads up, Barth! The much-anticipated New Harbor Basin infrastructure project is underway, right in the picturesque Baltic Sea town of Barth, Vorpommern-Rügen district. In the next few days, you'll see around 22,400 cubic meters of H2O taking over the site, aiming to reach a staggering height of 2.80 meters.

This extravagant project is a collaborative effort between the city of Barth and private investors, with the expansion of the whole Osthafen being the main event. By the end of 2026, this joint venture promises to deliver a stunning lineup: 239 swanky vacation apartments, a vibrant tourism center, thriving commercial zones, and a lush park—a perfect mix for a holiday getaway!

The construction of the 8,000 square meter harbor basin has been built on the former industrial wasteland. Along with public mooring facilities, approximately 70 plush new boat mooring spots will be ready for your yacht or dinghy. The city proudly declared, "The new Osthafen is a significant infrastructure project that bolsters the tourist and economic vitality of the city."
