Don't let antisemitic protesters tarnish academic integrity: Rep. Jake Auchincloss news
Barstool Sports CEO, Dave Portnoy, commended for appropriate response towards antisemitic episode at Barstool pub.
In an open conversation, Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-Mass) discussed the recent surge in antisemitism and protests on college campuses, the House speaker vacancy motion, and the indictment of Rep. Henry Cuellar.
Ben Stiller and Sen. Dave McCormick praised Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy for his firm stance against hate speech, following a disturbing incident at one of their establishments in Philadelphia.
Last weekend, a 'f--- the Jews' sign was displayed at Barstool Sansom Street bar, resulting in a strong backlash from the public. In response, Portnoy announced that the two culprits would be receiving a unique form of education - a tour of Auschwitz in Poland, notorious for the Holocaust atrocities that took the lives of over 1.1 million Jews.

Support and praise for Portnoy's decision poured in from various quarters, including Linda Yaccarino, X CEO, and ex-NFL reporter Michele Tafoya, praising his initiative for change and showing zero tolerance towards antisemitism.
Stiller and McCormick agreed with Portnoy, emphasizing the importance of confronting antisemitism head-on. Despite initial thoughts of harsh retaliation, Portnoy decided to teach the men a lesson through educational means instead.
Portnoy explained he reached out to the families of the culprits, discussing the effects of their actions and arranging for the tour. He also clarified that two other waitresses involved were dismissed.
Antisemitism has been escalating, with the Oct 2023 terrorist attacks by Hamas against Jewish people in Israel serving as a catalyst. The Anti-Defamation League recently reported that the number of such incidents reached an all-time high in the U.S., exceeding 9,354 cases last year, with over half related to Israel.
