Anastasia Yauzrezava to Perform a Vespers Concert at Dresden's Garnisonkirche

On the upcoming Sunday, 17th August, at 5 PM, Anastasia Yauzrezava will be gracing the stage of St. Martin's Church (Garnisonkirche), Stauffenbergallee 9 G, 01099 Dresden, for a captivating Vespers concert.

The concert program features a curated selection of Baroque lute arrangements, showcasing the rich repertoire composed and arranged by notable composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Sylvius Leopold Weiss, Friedrich Baron, and Johann Ulrich Hagen.

Johann Sebastian Bach's intricate counterpoint and harmonic depth will be beautifully rendered on the lute's resonant strings, with lute suites and arrangements of keyboard or violin works adapted for Baroque lute. Weiss's original lute compositions form a core part of the program, showcasing expressive melodies and virtuosic passages.

Baroque lute arrangements or original works by Baron demonstrate the stylistic nuances and delicate ornamentation characteristic of the period. Including pieces or arrangements from Hagen provides further insight into Baroque lute music’s diversity and artistic depth.

The program includes suites, sonatas, and solo pieces for the Baroque lute, promising a varied and engaging performance.

Anastasia Yauzrezava, a classically trained musician, brings a wealth of experience to her performances. She completed a degree in Music and Social Pedagogy at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University in 2014 and graduated from the Minsk State Conservatory as a classical guitarist in 2009. Her work combines performance practice with musicological research, ensuring a historically informed and authentic interpretation of the music.

For more specific program details such as exact pieces played or timings, you might check the concert’s official brochure or announcements from Garnisonkirche or Anastasia Yauzrezava’s official channels.

Please note that there will be a detour on the Großen Meißner due to an unspecified issue reported by the Dresden Public Transportation Authority (DVB). Additionally, a large tent exhibition will take place next to the Garnisonkirche on 18th August 2025, a different day from the concert.

Lastly, it is worth mentioning that a fire occurred in a snack bar on Stauffenbergallee yesterday evening, but the concert venue remains unaffected.

We look forward to welcoming you to this enchanting musical journey at the Garnisonkirche.
