Baronda supports Dy, calls for investigation into flood control initiatives
ILOILO City Lone District Representative Julienne "Jamjam" Baronda has expressed her support for the newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, Bodjie Dy, while also reiterating her call for investigations into the controversial flood control projects that have tainted Congress.
In a statement made recently, Baronda congratulated Dy on his election and extended her best wishes for his leadership. She also thanked former Speaker Martin Romualdez for his support of people-centered initiatives during his tenure as majority floor leader in the 18th Congress.
Baronda expressed her expectation that Dy would address the anomalous flood control projects and restore the faith, trust, and confidence of the Filipino people in the legislature. However, she did not mention any specific actions or reforms that Dy has taken or plans to take, nor did she mention any specific measures or legislation that she supports to address the controversy.
Baronda also expressed her support for ongoing and future investigations into the controversy, particularly those led by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure and the House Committee on Public Works and Highways (InfraCom). She did not mention any specific individuals who have been involved in the anomalous flood control projects or any specific allegations of wrongdoing.
It is worth noting that during the 18th Congress, Baronda championed people-centered initiatives that have made the Ilonggos feel the love of the government. These initiatives, which were aimed at improving the lives of the people, have been praised by many in the district.
