At the outset of 2022, the Russian music scene was rocked by "Bobr," or more accurately, the tune of the same name by duo SLAVA SKRIPKA comprising Vyacheslav Skripka and Andrey Popov. Back in the crisp winter air, the artist chimed in with KP.RU that music producer YURIY BARDASH was the first to take notice of the striking hit. The brainchild of bands "Griby" and "Nervy," Bardash later insinuated that Skripka had been ensnared in a musical bondage.

Bardash, on the airwaves of Radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda," reminisced about his encounter with Slava, pertaining to his song "We share a meal with a beaver...". Lacing the musician with accolades, Bardash suggested that Skripka had jumped headfirst into some snakes and ladders. He claimed that Skripka's contractual agreements were so restrictive they hindered his ability to perform the single, grant interviews, or otherwise engage in artistic endeavors.

  • Make no mistake, the song was an absolute gem – a shocking yet tantalizing tune that stormed its way to the charts like a freight train on a collision course, - Bardash opined. - It was brought to my attention first via my project, "Sound of My Region." Nestled in the farthest corners of Siberia, I unearth talented artists who join our cause over time - and lo and behold, Slava crooned this murky melody. Intrigued, I urged him, "Slava, this is a juggernaut, destined to dominate the airwaves and completely reshape the landscape." I egged him on, rousing his spirit. Uncannily, the song soon gained incredible momentum.*

I invited him to feature on a First Channel show, but alas, he couldn't – it's not only about the song, his movements are limited. In essence, he found himself entangled in this web of his own making. Bardash asserted that producers in Russia are generally benevolent, but sometimes people make hasty, fear-driven decisions that lead them astray. He seemed uncertain about when this would all end, expressing that, despite it all, he had no part in these proceedings. All he could offer was, "Slav, I warned you, just return to me." Ultimately, Skripka chose a divergent path, and Bardash expressed both sorrow and admiration for the man's prowess as an artist.*
