Barcelona transfer negotiations for Marcus Rashford hit a snag due to intervention from Oasis, complicating his anticipated departure from Manchester United.

Barcelona's potential acquisition of Marcus Rashford’s footballing talents nearly faces a halt, as the band Oasis may have interfered with Rashford's impending departure from Manchester United.

In a surprising turn of events, Manchester United's forward Marcus Rashford is considering a season-long loan to Barcelona. However, contrary to some speculations, the delay in Rashford's transfer to the Spanish club was not due to Oasis's homecoming concerts in Heaton Park.

Rashford, who was ranked at no. 77 in a list of the 100 best footballers in the world at the end of 2023, spent the second half of last year on loan at Aston Villa. During his time there, he made 17 appearances, scoring four goals and teeing up six more.

The delay in Rashford's travel plans was due to the occupation of Manchester Airport's private jet terminal by Oasis and their fans. As a result, Rashford and his team had to drive 80 miles to East Midlands airport. Singer Liam Gallagher, a member of the iconic Manchester City-loving band, Oasis, had a jet on standby for his departure from Manchester Airport.

Despite the delay, a loan move to Barcelona for Rashford is progressing and reportedly includes a £26million option to make the move permanent next summer. This move comes after Rashford and his representatives were ready to travel to Barcelona to complete the loan move over the weekend.

It's worth noting that Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United has been uncertain since last year due to a public disagreement with boss Ruben Amorim. The club is willing to get him off their wage bill, as Rashford is not part of Amorim's plans for the 2025/26 campaign.

Barcelona faced an unexpected delay in finalizing player registrations due to a behind-schedule financial audit by Crowe Spain. This administrative hold meant Rashford and other new signings were temporarily ineligible to play in La Liga until the issues were resolved. There is no mention in these reports or official sources linking the transfer delay to any external events such as concerts by Oasis or any other unrelated events.

In summary, Marcus Rashford’s move to Barcelona was affected by financial and regulatory audit delays within Barcelona and La Liga, not by Oasis concerts or any similar external factors. The England forward is eager to start a new chapter in his career, and fans eagerly await the official announcement of his transfer.

Meanwhile, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are reportedly being considered by Manchester United this summer as potential replacements for Rashford. The transfer window is still open, and it will be interesting to see who United will bring in to strengthen their squad.
